Owen best in golf
NZPA-AAP Sydney Simon Owen with a 71 was the best of the New Zealanders after the first , round of the Toshiba Australian P.G.A golf championship at the Monash Country Club yesterday. Jamie Crow of New South Wales was the first round
leader with a seven under par round of 65, one stroke ahead of Greg Norman of Queensland. Four New Zealanders — Bob Charles, Dennis Clark, Barry Vivian and John Lister — were among a group of 15 golfers who finished on par 72 at the end of the first round.
