New Old Boys coach

The former Junior All Black, Bruce McPhail, will partner Peter Wallis in the coaching of the High School Old Boys senior rugby team next winter.

Mr McPhail replaces Dave Philipson, who has taken the backs, with Mr Wallis in charge of the forwards, for the last two years. Mr Philipson has retired because of pressure of business.

Mr McPhail had 21 games for Canterbury between 1973 and 1975, and is best remembered for the intercept try he scored against England on Lancaster Park

in *1973, a try which gave Canterbury its 19-12 victory. This year Mr McPhail, in partnership with Mike Rattray coached the Old Boys under 19 team and the side won the grade with an unbeaten record.
