Art sponsorship
Sir, — I was heartened to read of the sponsorship by Sherris and Robertson for the forthcoming exhibition of Raymond Mclntyre’s works at the Robert McDougall Art Gallery. However, I was not heartened to read of the real estate firm’s reason for sponsorship, and I expect a philanthropic motive would have surprised me likewise. It is pleasing to note that John Coley acknowledges the wide cross-section of community patronage at exhibitions. Will patrons require a means' test before entry to the Mclntyre exhibition? — Yours, etc., B. H. PALMER. October 30, 1984.
