New ag. dean at Massey.

Professor Robert Anderson has been appointed Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences at. Massey University for a term of four years. He is Head of the Department of Animal Science at the University, and he will be continuing with this role, Originally from Australia, Professor Anderson began his agricultural career at Dookie Agricultural College, Victoria, where he completed a Diploma in Agriculture. He then enrolled for a BAgrSc degree at Massey University, graduating in 1970 as the top student in agriculture, for which he received the Sir James Wilson Prize.

After gaining a Masterate with first-class honours at Massey, he was appointed lecturer in Sheep Husbandry in 1973. In 1975 he went to Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, as a Fullbright Scholar where he completed a PhD in animal breeding and gained a Cornell Graduate Fellowship. He returned to Massey in 1978 and two years later was appointed professor and head of the Department of Sheep Husbandry. His current position as foundation head of the Animal Science Department followed the merger of the long-estab-lished Sheep and Dairy Husbandry Departments in 1982,
