Wine mixture a winner
Americans, heavily into “light beer” and “light wine,” are now drinking up wine coolers. Wine coolers are a lowalcohol mixture of wine and fruit juice, and were greeted with heavy scepticism by the wine trade when they came onto the market in 1981. Liquor stores which initially rejected them changed their minds after customer demand became apparent. The liquor stores are now selling more wine coolers than vermouth, which is used for'the traditional dry martini.
