Break from F.O.L. favoured

A majority of members of the Canterbury Local Bodies Officers’ Union has voted in four of the union’s, disaffiliation from the Federation of Labour. The decision was announced by the secretary, Mr Dennis Mace, yesterday. The 1100 members voted by secret postal ballot after the union’s executive decided in August to hold it.

Mr Mace said that the details of the voting would not be made public until after the members had been informed by newsletter next month.
