Owner’s plan for Bruno
The owner of Bruno, the stolen Great Dane, said last evening that he had wanted to exhibit the dog in the District Court. Stephen Young, aged 29, of Redcliffs, will appear in the District Court today to face charges relating to alleged attacks by Bruno. He has pleaded not guilty. Mr Young said that he would have preferred to have Bruno in Court to show how gentle the dog was. However, he also said that he wanted a decision on the case as soon as possible. ' Bruno was stolen on Saturday from the S.P.C.A. animal home where he was in custody awaiting the Court hearing. A group calling itself the Animal Liberation Front has claimed responsibility for the theft. Bruno had earlier been in police custody. Mr Young said that he missed Bruno, but was “not really worried about him.” “The people who took him are obviously extreme dog lovers and he will be going to a good home,” he said.
