PALMERSTON NORTH HOSPITAL BOARD CHIEF SOCIAL WORKER APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED for the position of Chief Social Worker, Palmerston North Hospital Board. The Board employs twenty-one social workers, plus clerical support, staff, who are located at Palmerston North and Horowhenua Hospitals, as . well as In community settings. There are two Student Units attached to the Social Work Department. Applicants must possess a recognised social work qualification, and desirably a second professional qualification in social work or a management-related field. They should have had extensive health social work experience, and linemanagement experience in the provision of social work service. The applicant appointed will possess the personal qualities and professional skills to foster effective working relationships within the Social Work Department, and with related agencies and disciplines. The appointee will be responsible to the Medical Superihtendent-in-Chief for professional social work standards, and for over-all management of the Social Work Department, including planning, administration and evaluation of services throughout the Board region. He or she will also be expected to advise the Medical Superlntendent-in-Chief on all aspects of social work services and staffing.
