Ear tags compete for award
PA Wellington Animal ear tags will line up beside inflatable boats and refrigerators for judging in a beauty contest with a difference. The parade of eight finalists will take place under the bright lights of television cameras, and before the sharp eyes of judges for this year’s Prince Philip Award for Industrial Design, on November 10. Lining up for the award for the most beautifully designed object are a range of products reflecting the diversity of New Zealand manufacturing. They range from inflatable boats, .22 calibre rifles, refrigerators, a computerised wool drying system, and a respiratory humidifier to livestock tags. The winning designer will receive $5OOO study award sponsored by PDL Industries as well as the Prince Philip award.
