Deaf teams succeed
Christchurch teams excelled at the national sports championships for the deaf in Auckland over the week-end. The men’s and women’s badminton teams won their respective competitions, and the Christchurch men’s basketball team won its competition while the women’s team lost to Auckland in the final. A Christchurch team also won the table tennis title and two other were runners-up in the netball and golf events. .
