Haitana involved in brawl

NZPA-AAP Brisbane No charges had been laid after a brawl in a Gold Coast tavern on Friday evening involving the man at the centre of the Fine Cotton ring-in affair, Hayden Haitana, said the police on Saturday. They said a fight broke out at the Benowa Tavern near the Southport Racecourse while Mr Haitana was drinking with another man named in the Fine Cotton inquiry. Mr Haitana bad been to Brisbane to arrange a change of bail conditions. He was arrested on South Australia after nation-wide inquiries when the horse Bold Personality was allegedly substituted for Fine Cotton at Brisbane’s Doomben Racecourse on August 18. Mr Haitana, who is staying on the Gold Coast with his wife and two children, was believed to have received a black eye and a cut mouth in the brawl.
