Lower-grade cricket

Bill Nicolson had a rare feat in a second grade match in the Canterbury Cricket Association’s competitions on Saturday. Playing for Sydenham A against High School Old Boys, Nicolson was on the field for every ball in the two-day match. Besides fielding throughout both the Old Boy’s’ innings he batted through the two Sydenham innings. At the end of the first day he was 60 not out and went on to complete his century and be 112 not out when the Sydenham innings was declared. He opened the Sydenham second innings and when the game ended on Saturday he had scored 42 not out in Sydenham's second innings of 123 for six.
