Campaign on V.D. urged
PA Wellington The Nurses’ Society has asked the Health Department to consider organising a campaign on the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases.
“In the area of sexually transmitted diseases, prevention should be the main intervention, but not as much attention is being given to this as required,”said the society’s national director, Mr David Wills.
He said the main focus should be on the promotion of condoms. However, there were at least four other specific measures that individuals could take and they should also be promoted.
