Sir,—As one of the “man in the street” people, I am concerned to see the sale of beer in supermarkets. We have reports daily of the effects in the home and courts of the abuse of alcohol, which is available at numerous outlets. Because so many people at present have limited incomes, in no time at all food items will be deleted from shopping lists to enable the beer purchase.
