Wellington wool eases slightly

PA Wellington Fleece and hogget wool was selling up to 2 per cent dearer at the Wellington wool sale yesterday, compared with the Invercargill sale on August 30, according to the official report. Second-shear was in sellers’ favour, good crutchings to 2.5 per cent cheaper, with poorer crutchings to 5 per cent cheaper, it said. early shorn hoggets, 7 per cent pre-lamb shorn ewes, 3 per cent lambs, and 5 per cent piece oddments wool. Also on offer were 1070 bales of Wool Board stock. The main buying strength came from New Zealand scourers and mills, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. The adjusted weighted average sale price was 356.78 c a kilogram. The market indicator was 357 c and it will apply from midnight, September T until midnight, September?l2.
