PA Wellington The New Zealand High Commission in Delhi might be opened this financial year, said the Prime Minister, Mr Lange, yesterday. Mr- Lange told reporters after a caucus meeting that to open the High Commission this financial year was a goal and “at the moment it’s still on course”. Mr Lange was asked if, under the compensatory

funding approach, another embassy would have to be closed if one opened in India. He said that there were other ways of saving money and that things such as the scale of the High Commission and when it opened would have an effect on the cost. Even a matter of months made a difference to expenditure in the present financial year, he said.
