Jagger as Satan
NZPA-AAP London The Rolling Stones singer, Mick Jagger, has landed a new film role — playing Satan. Jagger will star opposite Orsen Welles as God in a film called “Satan and Eve,” the “Sun” reported. The Rolling Stones faced allegations of Devil worship at the height of their rebelliousness in the 1960 s when they had a hit single called “Sympathy for the Devil” and named an album “Their Satanic Majesties Request.” The new role will be Jagger’s ninth foray into acting. His first big role, as the Australian bushranger, Ned Kelly, was panned by the critics.
The “Sun” said Jagger was also discussing a joint film project with a fellow rock star, David Bowie, whose acting performances have been much better received.
Talks have already been held with the producer, Michael White, and the actor, Peter Richardson, over a movie similar to the Marilyn Monroe classic, “Some Like It Hot.”
