Box 12003, Wellington North, Telegrams: Tenders Comworks at 4.00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 1934, are invited for. the above work. The work comprises the manufacture and delivery of the above lifting gear. The lifting gear comprises a lifting cylinder approximately 11 metres long In two or four sections with a 400 mm bore machined and honed from heavy steel pipe. In addition the contract Includes a crosshead, a crosshead slideway and a connecting link made up from machined cast and/or fabricated components. Piston stroke is approximately 9.5 metre and working pressure is 8 Mpa. Mass of cylinder assembly 7.9 tonnes. Mass of crosshead slideway 42 tonnes. Mass of connecting link 3.3 tonnes. A high standard of fabrication and machining Is required. The department supplies major materials. Tender documents are available to principal contractors only who have the necessary experience and resource to undertake this work from the Secretary, Head Office Tenders Board, Ministry of Works and Development, P.O. Box 12003, Wellington North.
