‘Country G.P.’ sold

PA Auckland The drama serial, “Country G.P.”, has been sold to Ireland’s public broadcasting network, Telefis Eireann, says the show’s producer, Mr Stephen McElrea. “Country G.P.” was always made with overseas sales in mind, unlike “Close to Home,” which was never intended for the inter-

national arena, he said. “We tried to avoid local colloquialisms and snippets of information which would be meaningless to an overseas audience,” he said. The head of TVNZ Enterprises, Mr Maurice Smythe, said the deal was made after “Country G.P.” screenings at the M.I.P. festival at Cannes earlier this year.
