N.Z. contribution to Asian Bank
NZPA staff correspondent Manila New Zealand has made a further contribution of $NZ75,000 to the Asian Development Bank’s Technical Assistance Special Fund, the bank has announced in Manila. The ADB is a regional
development institution, with headquarters in Manila. It has 45 member countries: 31 from Asia and the Pacific and 14 from outside the region. New Zealand was a founder member of the financial institution, which last year awarded some SNZI4BOM in contracts for developments projects in Asia and the South Pacific. Membership of the ADB by New Zealand, allowed New Zealand contractors and consultants to bid on contracts let by the bank, and New Zealand officials in Manila recently said/they believed it represented a major and as yet underutilised opportunity for New Zealand consultants. New Zealand’s latest contribution to the fund was its ninth and brought the country’s total contribution to the fund to SNZ2.O4 million.
