Bono Vox (above) lead singer of the Irish rock group, U2. Tickets for the group’s concert in Christchurch on August 29. sold outin less than two hours yesterday. . It took only one hour and 50 minutes for tickets to sell out after the Christchurch Town Hall’s booking office opened at 9. a.m. That was a record sell-out time, said the Town Hall’s manager, Mr Ray Sleeman. The previous record time was for the Jethro Tull concert, when tickets sold out in two hours. “A staff member spoke to the tour promoter today and will probably know by Friday whether there is to be a second concert. “However, there are so many things involved with holding a second concert that even if the promoters want to hold one it may not be possible,” Mr Sleeman said.
If held, a second concert would probably be on August 28.
