Only one objection to motels
Only one objection was received by the town planning committee of Riccarton Borough Council to a proposed motel complex at 145 Deans Avenue.
The objector, who lives next to the site of the projrosed motel, did not appear in person when the town planning committee heard the application on Monday. A perspective drawing of the complex by the architectural designer, Mr David Childs, was printed in “The Press” yesterday. Reference in the caption to objections closing on July 27 and the appointment of a commissioner to hear crossobjections, were in error, and applied to another part of the town planning committee’s business discussed at its meeting on Monday.
