Fare rise criticised
PA Wellington The 7 per cent rise in international air fares was another inflationary result of the Government’s hasty devaluation, said Social Credit’s deputy leader, Mr Garry Knapp. The increase would make international air travel more difficult for ordinary New Zealanders, he said. Once again the Government was indulging in economic tactics that would see goods and services priced out of the hands of earners.
