Another gangway built
PA Wellington A special telescoping gangway built for the Arahura has been recommissioned by the Railways Corporation nearly eight months after it was hit and damaged on New Year’s Eve as the ferry was leaving the Wellington terminal. Repairs cost $60,000 and the Wellington Harbour Board, the terminal owner, will proceed with a claim against the Railways. . New berthing procedures have been developed for the Arahura in Wellington to avoid similar accidents.
