Radio station plans
PA Tauranga The first full-time radio station broadcasting Maori programmes could be on the air in Tauranga by next August. A meeting of 25 people on Tuesday decided to form a public company to raise more than $200,000 needed
to equip and run an independent FM station. The company, Te Reo o Tauranga Moana (The Voice of Tauranga Moana), would own and run the station. Three trustees appointed while the company is being set up are Mr Bill Ohia, Mr Hare Arapera, and Mrs Aroha Lutenberger.
