Lamb for Iraq
PA Hamilton A 2000-tonne export order of frozen lamb to Iraq was confirmed by the Meat Board yesterday. The deal is the first to that country for more than four years. The product development and technical manager of the Meat Board, Mr David Wright, told the meat industry research conference at Hamilton that the Iraqi order had been confirmed earlier yesterday and that the board hoped further orders would follow. The' order of YL sides of lamb cut into six pieces, wrapped in film and packaged in a cardboard carryall container, would be packed in the next three weeks, he said. The first of the three shipments would leave in about six weeks.
