Quiet NZ market
Turnover continued to decline on the New Zealand Stock Exchange yesterday, although the weak trend appeared to slow. The volume traded yesterday was 1,650,000 shares in contrast to turnover of more than three million shares a day when the market was bullish. The Barclays industrial index eased 0.26 points to 1173.01. Stereo FM traded 1c above the price of 125 c a share offered by a mystery client for 10 per cent of its capital. However, turnover was small. Radio Pacific, another broadcasting issue, stood out on a 15c gain to 135 c. Among the market leaders, Brierley, Dominion Breweries, and Fletcher were 1c firmer, but ANZ Banking Group, Dalgety Crown, and Wattie were easier. NZ Forest Products remained at 300 c for the second consecutive session.
