Maniototo inquiry
PA Wellington A working party has been set up to investigate and recommend a “fair and equitable” water charge for the shortened Maniototo irrigation scheme. Representatives of the 26 irrigators met the Minister of Works, Mr Colman, to discuss the project. Mr Colman said later that he had directed a working party of officials from the Ministry of Works, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Treasury, and Maniototo area representatives to Investigate and recommend “a fair and equitable” water charge.
