1.2kg of cannabis resin in ship
PA Wellington About I.2kg of cannabis resin, with a street value of $40,000, and a white packet suspected of containing heroin have been found by customs officers searching the ship New Zealand Star at New Plymouth. The Assistant Collector of Customs (enforcement), Mr Garry Smith, said in Wellington yesterday that the searches had been made by Wellington officers during the last two days but there were no suspects yet. . The ship had been to the Gulf States, India, Pakistan, and Singapore before arriving at New Plymouth on Sunday. The New Zealand Star is a sister ship of the Australian Star from which 800 grams of hashish and cannabis were seized in New Plymouth 10 days ago.
