Wool, ceramics
Domestic scale wool and ceramic wall hangings by the husband and wife team, John and Mary Turner, Mil be on display at the C.S.A. Gallery for two weeks from July 31. The 12 pieces followed a habitat theme that grew from the forms of river landscapes used in their first exhibition, said John Turner. “Each piece combines several materials and there is a strong fantasy element about them all, with hidden places amongst the wool.” A solo exhibition by John
Turner will run at the gallery until July 29. This exhibition of 19 works includes sculpture and drawings all incorporating a “personal archaeology” theme. “I have developed a landscape theme containing images within landscapes that relate to the idea of traces and evidence of processes by man. “All the pieces are very stylised. All the drawingsrelate to the same theme and some could produce sculptures in themselves,” he said.
