Field scholar packs
The first New Zealand Samoan girl from Christchurch to win an American Field Scholarship to the United States, Miss Luisa Vaiaso, aged 18 (above) packs her bags before her departure for Auckland. From Auckland she was to fly to Hawaii, then, via Los Angeles, to San Fran-
cisco where she will attend an orientation week with 500 other A.F.S. scholars from around the world. 1 Miss Vaiaso will live in Chargrian Falls, Ohio, and attend Kenston High School, a similar sized school to Hagley High School where she has been in the sixth form.
