Ferries due to resume
PA Wellington Cook Strait ferries are due to return to normal timetables today after a one-day dispute involving Picton railways staff. Six ferry sailings were cancelled by the Railways Corporation after the dispute over relief workers flared on Wednesday afternoon. Railways staff had put a ban on number-taking duties, which entail compiling lists of freight and its weight.
The dispute was settled yesterday afternoon.
