Ravina Lass works well
Special correspondent Auckland Ravina Lass and Mark’s Angel are in fine trim for the North Island Standardbred Breeders’ Stakes at Alexandra Park tomorrow evening. They underlined . their readiness for the main race at the Franklin Club’s meeting when they worked attractively at Pukekohe yesterday. Ravina Lass covered 3200 m in 4min 32.25. She was travelling strongly at the finish after cutting out the last 800 m in Imin 3s and 400 in 29.25. It was a pretty good run. Robert Best, the trainer of Mark’s Angel, was much happier after she worked than. on Sunday, when she lined up in an organised workout.
“She went poorly,” he said, “and I was seriously thinking of scratching her from the stakes.” “But it was a different story this morning. She was on the bit all the way. Yes, she’ll run now.”
