M. Gillies suffers fractured finger
PA Wellington The Central Districts jumping rider, Michael Gillies, suffered a broken finger when his mount, Cat’s Delight, fell at the secondlast hurdle, when leading, in the Corunna Hurdles at Trentham yesterday. “You wouldn’t believe it. The other horses missed me
... my own horse stood on my fingers,” said Gillies. Peter Didham hurt his back in the same event when his mount, Moana Mondo, came down at the second fence.
He had to forgo the ride on Peka Prince in the Mariri Steeples.
