Man crushed to death
PA Gisborne The Gisborne rubbish collector killed in a freak accident yesterday has been identified. He was Toka (Duke) Heta, aged 31, of Hudson Street. Mr Heta was crushed in the compacting mechanism at the rear of a truck about 5.30 a.m., soon after the morning collection round began.
The accident was discovered by the driver of the truck, who went to the back of the truck to find out why he had had no command to drive on.
