“He’s ready and we expect him to go a fine race,” said Roy Purdon after Billbob had his final hoppled workout yesterday in preparation for the New Zealand Juvenile Championship. “It was all we wanted him to do,” Roy Purdon said, “and he did it very well.”
Billbob did not race on the first night of the Auckland Trotting Club’s meeting last Saturday. Instead the Purdons gave him a run at organised workouts at Pukekohe on Sunday. Billbob won, breaking lmin for the last 800 m.
