Buried grenades found
PA Auckland Post Office technicians laying cables under an Onehunga flat on Tuesday unearthed an unexploded British fragmentation grenade of World War II vintage. An Army munitions
pert, called by the police, then found a Japanese blast grenade. Sergeant David Theyers said the detonators of both were missing, but the grenades could have been dangerous if handled incorrectly. The grenades were exploded in a safe are®.
