Bowden firm sold
The Christchurch advertising firm has bought Bowden Communications, Ltd, the advertising and public relations firm, of Mr Max Bowden, of Christchurch. The Bowden staff will join Claude and Associates, the governing director of the firm, Mr V. R. Claude, said last evening.
Mr Bowden will be consultant to Claude and Associates, and is keeping his “Main Report” newsletter, Global House mail-order business, and livestock interest, Max Bowden Standardbreds. The sale, taking effect on July 1, would confirm Claude and Associates as the biggest advertising firm in the South Island, Mr Claude said. With its Auckland office, it was in the biggest 20 advertising firms in the country. The merger would bring its staff numbers to 25.
Clients of Bowden Communications include the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, Whitcoulls, Wrightson Grain and Seed, and AIC International (formerly International Harvester).
