Government of a P ua ew u,nea —■ Department of Primary Industry (Cape Rodney Agricultural Development Project) Applications are invited for the following positions to develop a large Asian Development Bank funded smallholder land development scheme 250 kilometres, by road, South East of Port Moresby. The Government of Papua New Guinea will be spending some K2sm over the next five years to establish an extra 3000 ha of rubber on small holder blocks plus provide necessary social infrastructure. Field Supervisor Level 17 The appointee will be required to supervise and control a large labour force, employed establishing 3000 ha of rubber, and must be capable of developing and implementing, through staff, an extension programme for up to 500 smallholder families. A large training role is envisaged. The applicant will have been actively working in the rubber industry for at least 10 years and possess a very thorough practical experience in all aspects of rubber husbandry. Experience on large scale land settlement schemes would be desirable. Assistant Manager Finance & Accounting Level 17 The appointee will be responsible for all administrative matters relating to some 90 staff, oversee a very large cash office, supervise a cheque issuing account, be responsible for the accounting of approximately K 5 million p.a. and preparation of all Asian Development Bank reimbursement applications. The applicant will have extensive experience in financial and staff management and possess considerable administrative ability.
