Commercial on saying ‘no’
NZPA-AP Madison. Wisconsin A 30-second television commercial advising women to assert their independence and avoid problems by simply saying no to unwanted sexual advances has been so successful that it will be offered state-wide, officials sav.
The state-sponsored advertisement. which features a women aged in her 20s saying that "when I say no. they hear me," was produced with $U566,143 (SNZ101.860) in Federal funds and was broadcast this year as a public service announcement on Madison's three commercial television stations. The advertisement, designed to curb sexual assaults and unwanted pregnancies, is aimed at both women and men.
