Ballot on F.O.L. link
PA Wellington The New Zealand Electrical Workers’ Union is holding a postal ballot among its 11,000 members to see if it wants to remain affiliated to the Federation of Labour. The union has had an often stormy relationship with the F.O.L. The forms were sent to
members on Friday and must be in by June 29. The union’s secretary, Mr Tony Neary, said he hoped the count would be completed by June 30. “It's a straight out question on in or out,” Mr Neary said yesterday.
The last ballot on affiliation by the union was conducted in the early 19605.
