Trainer fined

PA Auckland The Avondale Jockey Club’s judicial committee, after an adjourned inquiry held at Ellerslie on Saturday, fined the Te Aroha trainer, Clarrie Robinson, $l5O for failing to scratch Shinta’s Gold at Avondale on May 18. Shinta’s Gold was scratched by the judicial committee for the Waterview Improvers’ after it received advice that the horse would not attend the races. In fixing the penalty, the committee stated that on May 20 last year Shinta’s Gold had been a late scratching and a fine of $lOO had been imposed. The horse on this second occasion was in a course jackpot race and was well backed. The committee said that the bets on her were transferred to another runner, which finished unplaced. t
