Two Chch bowlers in semi-finals
Two Canterbury combinations have reached the semi-finals of the South Island indoor bowls pairs championship in Blenheim. Eddie Ashby and his wile, Sandra, and Christine Ferguson and her daughter, Sandra, are through to the last four, where they will be joined by Ray and Don Scott, of Nelson, and Bob Bothwell and Ron Harper, of Marlborough. Canterbury bowlers comprise almost half the field of 16 left in the fours. The Canterbury skips still in the title hunt are D. W. Allen, D. Philpott, N. W. Tomlinson, A. Thomas, G. Jackson, V. McLeod and G. Forrest. The finals of both events will be played today.
