Railway increases lead in club badminton

Railway I increased its margin at the top of the A grade club badminton competition to nine points with a crushing win over the lowly South Brighton II in the eighth round of competition at the Skellerup Hall on Tuesday night. While it was achieving an 80 win, Railway’s closest rival, Bryndwr-Y.M.C.A. I, was receiving a thrashing. 7-1, by Christchurch. Bryndwr’s hope’s of success were not helped by one of its men not turning up for the match, giving Christchurch three points, without having to step on the court. Hagley I also had to default two matches, but still managed to beat Bryndwr-Y.M.C.A. 11, 5-3.
