Project valued
PA Wellington The re-development of Queen Street’s Century Theatre site by Chase Corporation, Ltd, is valued at $73.5 million, said the chairman, Mr Colin Reynolds. Stage one of the re-de-velopment will involve a 22level office tower. Later stages involve a car-parking building and two additional towers, all on the o.sha site. The re-development was being planned as a financial centre incorporating a computer bureau, computer network facilities, and closed
circuit television. A podium level would contain a large open plaza area with restaurants and health centre. “We have letters of intent for 12 of the 15 floors in stage one. We have made submissions to the Auckland Regional Stock Exchange and they are being considered at the present time,” Mr Reynolds said. Based on present market rents, the expected income is J5.5M a year. Construction of stage one starts late this year and is expected to finish in early 1986.
