Underwear ad. ban in London
NZPA-AAP London Sexy advertisements for bras and panties have been banned from London’s Underground rail network because they “debase womanhood.” The “Daily Express” reported that the ban by toe London Transport Committee follows a long campaign by “militant women” on the Greater London Council. Women’s underwear ad-
vertisements have been displayed in trains and on tube station walls for 20 years. However, a London Transport spokesman saii “Adverts depicting women as sex objects will not be allowed. “From now on, each advert will have to be considered on its own merit and carefully scrutinised before appearing on the Underground.”
