Favourable Cup draw

Ten of the Rothmans Soccer League clubs have been favourably treated in the draw for the third round proper of the Adidas Chatham Cup. The draw was announced yesterday by the chairman of the New Zealand Football Association’s fixtures sub-committee Mr Trevor Gottermeyer. Only two of the national league clubs can regard themselves as unlucky. Napier City Rovers and Gisborne City, which met in the league yesterday, have been drawn to meet each other in Napier when the third round will be played, on June 9-10. Seven of the other 10

have received home advantage against opponents from lower divisions. National Mutual Miramar, Manurewa and Mount Wellington will play away from home. Christchurch Brother United will have an interesting contest against the leading Hertz League side, Rangers, while .. Nomads United has received the toughest assignment of the remaining Canterbury teams — it must travel south to meet Dunedin City. New Brighton beaten, 3-0, by Cashmere-Wanderers earlier this season in the league, will have a chance for revenge in the Cup. The full draw is:—Northern
