Country music nominations
PA Auckland The country music performers, Gray Bartlett, and Brendan Dugan, dominate nominations for the Kiwi Country Music Awards here next month. The pair initiated the Commission of Inquiry into TVNZ’s “That’s Country” show. They are nominated for a total of 14 awards in 17 categories by the public for the June 27 prize-giving. Dugan, running against singers such as John HoreGrennell and Eddie Low for the top male country vocalist, has three nominations in
the country single category and two albums in the country LP section. Bartlett is nominated for the catagories of country music instrumentalist, record producer, country single, country LP and, with Dugan, for top duet and single. The guitarist is also nominated for a Pioneer award with performers like the late Tex Morton and John Hore- Grennell. Nominations for the top female country vocalist are Suzanne Prentice, Jodi Vaughan, and Patsy Riggir.
