hbbm ■■■■■■■MBBMMMMHM■BMMMBMMBHBnOH KAPUNI COMPLEX SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER SENIOR CHEMICAL ENGINEER Natural Gas Corporation (NGC) was formed as a State Corporation in 1967 to purchase, treat, transport and market gas from the Kapuni Field or from other sources within or beyond New Zealand. On the formation of the Petroleum Corporation of New Zealand Ltd, NGC became a wholly-owned limited liability company within the Petrocorp Group of Companies. The Kapuni Complex encompasses a gas treatment station and a plant manufacturing nitrogenous fertilizer (urea) and anhydrous ammonia. NGC operates the Ammoma-Urea Plant on behalf of the Petrochemical Corporation (NZ) Limited, another subsidiary Company of the Petrocorp Group. The value of production, on an annual basis, is in excess of $6O million and the plant operates on a continual shift basis. The appointment of a Senior Mechanical Engineer and a Senior Chemical Engineer has become necessary due to restructuring. SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER The Senior Mechanical Engineer who reports to the Technical Services Manager, will be responsible for mechanical projects and activities on both the Gas Treatment and Ammonia-Urea Plants and will be responsible for vetting all mechanical changes and specifications regarding civil works, piping, structures, vessels and rotating equipment. He/she will be responsible for small projects and capital expenditure projects as well as updating drawings, permits and Government Departmental approvals. He/she will assist the Plant Maintenance Department. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will supervise the Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager. SENIOR CHEMICAL ENGINEER The Senior Chemical Engineer who reports to the Technical Services Manager will be responsible for chemical projects and activities on both the Gas Treatment and Ammonia-Urea Plants and will be responsible for process monitoring and recommending process controls. He/she must recommend and/or vet all process equipment changes, catalyst replacement and water treatment purchases. He/she would be responsible for all laboratory work including product quality control. The Senior Chemical Engineer will supervise the Chemical Engineer and Chief Chemist. The appointees will have a mechanical/chemical engineering degree (as appropriate) and 7 years experience since graduating and be a qualified and registered professional Engineer. It would be preferred that appointees have experience in the petrochemical or related technological field although this is not essential. The appointees will be on call and will participate in a weekend roster system for coverage of both plants. A competitive remuneration package will be offered for those two positions and will Include superannuation, subsidised health insurance and non-contributory life insurance cover. The company will meet relocation expenses in line with normal policy and consideration will be given to assistance with housing finance if required.
