Upset wins to Lamb
Riccarton's Graham Lamb pulled off the biggest upset in this season's Agrade inter-club table-tennis competition by beating all three members of the powerful Avonside No. 1 team. Lamb, a former Canterbury representative, played consistently to inflict the first defeat of the season on Maurice Burrowes, and then went on to beat Jan Morris and Michael Burrows. Lamb’s effort was not enough however as Avonside went on to win the match 7-5. John Armstrong continued on his winning way and assisted Riccarton No. 2 to a 7-5 win over Avonside No. 3. However, Karl Entwistle, fresh from a successful tour of New South Wales with the New Zealand under-15 side, and Bert
